The California Wellness Foundation announced today that Colburn “Cole” Wilbur, M.B.A., has been named interim president and CEO, until a permanent successor can be recruited. He succeeds Diana M. Bontá, R.N., Dr.P.H., who served the Foundation as President and CEO for 18 months before stepping down on June 14, 2013. Wilbur is a trustee and former president of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, a position he held from 1976 to 1999. Prior to joining the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, he was the executive director and CEO of the Sierra Club Foundation. In 1999, Wilbur received the Distinguished Grantmaker Award from the Council on Foundations. He served as a senior fellow at the Council from 1999 to 2000 and, in 2005, was appointed interim president and CEO.
