This report provides the preliminary results from the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research’s Pacific Islander Health Study, one of the most comprehensive reviews of Pacific Islander health status ever conducted. The report documents and highlights the significant disparities in health status among Pacific Islanders, who are often aggregated with Native Hawaiians and with Asian Americans in health data, obscuring an accurate understanding of these distinct populations.
