Covered California, the state-based health insurance exchange that implements the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in California, has announced the Qualified Health Plans that will be offering health care insurance beginning October 1, 2013. Thirteen health plans plans throughout the state, including national, regional, and local health plans, will be offering health insurance to California residents through the centralized marketplace. Those with incomes below 400 percent of the Federal Poverty Level will be eligible for federal subsidies to assist with their premium payments.
