This fact sheet jointly produced by the National LGBT Health Education Center at the Fenway Institute and the National Association of Community Health Centers highlights the importance of explicitly recognizing and addressing the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people served by community health centers. The National LGBT Health Center is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration to provide education and training to community health centers on LGBT health issues. The fact sheet includes a series of questions that a governing board could ask to assess the community health center’s organizational awareness, knowledge, and capacities to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender patients and families.
