As part of its Accelerated Development Learning Sessions, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation has published a planning and self-assessment tool for organizations considering becoming accountable care organizations. The tool includes self-assessment on the domains of:
- Organizational Goals, Management and Governance
- Improving Car Delivery to Increase Quality and Reduce Costs
- Effective Use of Health Information Technology and Data Resources
- Ability to Assume and Manage Financial Risk
Each domain includes several “competencies” that accountable care organizations will need. Three additional Accelerated Development Learning Sessions are being planned this fall:
- September 15-16- San Francisco, California
- October – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Metropolitan area
- November – Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area
