The U.S. Census Bureau has released another level of data from the latest census conducted last year. For example, while the total population in the U.S. increased 9.7% from 2000 to 2010, some states experienced much more rapid growth. Nevada was the fastest-growing state between 2000 and 2010, growing by 35.1%, followed by Arizona (24.6 percent), Utah (23.8 percent), Idaho (21.1 percent), and Texas (20.6 percent). The data brief also includes analyses of population growth over the past ten years by county and by city.
