California Pan-Ethnic Health Network: A Blueprint for Success – Bringing Language Access to Millions of Californians

This issue brief from the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network describes the advocacy efforts that led to the enactment of California Senate Bill 853, requiring all commercial health plans in California to ensure language access for their insured members.  The issue brief also describes the continued advocacy needed to ensure that the implementing regulations reflected the requirements in the enacted legislation.
