The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders was originally established by Executive Order 13125 by President Bill Clinton.
President George W. Bush renewed the Initiative with Executive Order 13339 and Executive Order 13403.
Most recently, President Barack Obama renewed the Initiative with Executive Order 13515.
The appointment of the members of the current President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders was announced on September 16, 2010 and the Commission was first convened on September 20-21, 2010.
