The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is conducting a series of training webinars for organizations interested in becoming Certified Application Counselor (CAC) organizations for the federally-facilitated health insurance exchanges.  Applications for interested organizations  are available at: http://marketplace.cms.gov/help-us/cac.html.

Webinar topics will include:

–          requirements for a CAC organization

–          how to apply to be a CAC organization

–          overview of training requirements

–          Marketplace eligibility and enrollment

–          Medicaid expansion

–          The streamlined application process

While CAC organizations will not be compensated by CMS for assisting individuals with applications for health care insurance to the federally-faciliated exchanges, only CAC organizations who apply and are “designated” by CMS will be able to state that they are recognized by CMS and the exchanges to assist individuals with their applications.
