California HealthCare Foundation: A Primer on Health Care Quality

This “primer” is a useful and understandable resource on health care quality, published by the California HealthCare Foundation.  Although it was published in 2000, it is still one of the best single resources to explain the basic concepts and development of health care quality improvement activities in the U.S.
